Lena Moy-Borgen is a New York City based performer, writer, and drama teacher. She has appeared onstage and off at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Signature Theatre Company, the Public Theatre, PS 122, the Paper Mill Playhouse, the Bushwick Starr, the Flea Theatre, Incubator Arts Project, and more! She has worked with companies such as Half Straddle, Tele-Violet, the San Francisco Mime Troupe and directors such as Tina Satter, Igor Goldin, Harris Yulin, and Young Jean Lee. Favorite roles include Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, the Witch in Into the Woods, and Wanda Muir in John Muir’s Mountain Days. She was one of the Top 5 contestants in Mama’s Next Big Act competition at Don’t Tell Mama in 2016, and went on to take over as the host in 2019, and has continued to host the competition each year to rave reviews. Her cabaret shows include LenaLenaLena, The Awards Show, The Holiday Show, Moy-Borgen & Bourne’s Office Party (with Cheo Bourne), Glam Girl in a Grunge World, It’s a Man’s World….Gender Studies: But with Show Tunes! and A Very Jewish Christmas Story. Her shows have played at the Duplex, the Triad, 53 Above, and Don’t Tell Mama. She has received 5 MAC Award nominations and numerous BroadwayWorld.com Cabaret Award nominations. She received her BFA from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Experimental Theater Wing. She is an AEA member and the executive director of Play On! Studios, a theater and music studio on the Upper West Side (playonstudios.com).
